Once a month we will be choosing a personal challenge where we give up something or commit to doing something for 7 days.  It could be waking up at a particular time, reading for an hour, giving up social media or watching TV in an effort to be more productive or develop better habits.

This month we will give up watching TV for 7 days.  This includes Netflix, Hulu, network TV, etc.  While watching TV after a long day for 30 minutes or an hour really isn’t a big deal, it can often turn into more than that and then you are left wondering where the night went.

So often we say to ourselves, “if only I had enough time to ………”  Well, maybe we actually have that time and we just don’t realize it because we get caught up in a distracting activity that keeps us from realizing our potential.  If you are putting off making a budget, starting or finishing a household project or not reading a book we are missing out on opportunities to actually make stuff happen.

This doesn’t mean we can’t sit back and relax or that it is bad to watch TV, but as we find it difficult to fit everything we want to do in a day or week sometimes you have to give something up in order to make it happen.

We invite any reader to also challenge themselves or even join us in these challenges.  We will follow up in a week to let you know how it went.
